MSME / Udyam Registration Process

The MSME (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) registration process has been updated and replaced by the Udyam Registration process in India. Here’s how you can register under the Udyam Registration scheme:

  1. Visit the Udyam Registration Portal: Go to the official website of Udyam Registration, which is https://udyamregistration.gov.in/. This portal is dedicated to the registration of MSMEs in India.
  2. New User Registration: If you’re registering for the first time, click on the “For New Entrepreneurs who are not Registered yet as MSME” button. This will take you to the registration page.
  3. Enter Aadhaar Number: Provide your 12-digit Aadhaar number in the designated field. Make sure the Aadhaar card is linked with your mobile number for OTP verification.
  4. Enter Personal Details: Fill in your personal details such as name, gender, category, and others as required.
  5. Business Details: Enter your business details, including the type of organization (proprietorship, partnership, company, etc.), PAN number, and GSTIN (if applicable).
  6. Bank Details: Provide your bank account details, including the account number and IFSC code.
  7. Investment and Employment Details: Enter the total investment in plant and machinery or equipment and the number of people employed in the business.
  8. Verification and Submission: Review all the information you’ve entered and make sure it’s accurate. Then, submit the form.
  9. OTP Verification: After submitting the form, you’ll receive an OTP (One Time Password) on your registered mobile number. Enter the OTP on the portal for verification.
  10. Registration Certificate: Once the verification is complete, you’ll receive your Udyam Registration certificate. This certificate is valid for a lifetime and serves as proof of your MSME registration.

Note: If you’re already registered under the previous MSME registration process (Udyog Aadhaar Memorandum), you need to re-register under the Udyam Registration scheme. The process is similar, but you’ll need to provide additional information such as PAN and GSTIN.
